About Veterinary Specialties at the Lake

Welcome to Veterinary Specialties at the Lake, where everyone is special. We believe that each pet patient for whom we care and each pet family for whom we serve, are special. Veterinary Specialties, too, is special in that we offer two fully integrated service departments, the Comprehensive Pet Care Center, and the Carolinas Center for Small Animal Reproduction.

Comprehensive Pet Care Center

From the first hello to the final farewell, our mission at VSL’s Comprehensive Pet Care Center is to partner with you to provide the best quality of life throughout the life of your pet. The Pet Care Center provides good care, internal medicine, surgery, and geriatric care for our pet patients. Our mission goes far beyond the state-of-the-art services we offer. This is not “cookie cutter” medicine in which every pet gets the same life plan for good care. Every aspect of each visit is individually tailored to your pet’s unique needs and designed to minimize stress and be pet-friendly. Our goal is to have our patients discharged not only in perfect health but also happy with their tails wagging and their motors running. Your pets’ health and well-being are very important to us, and we take every possible measure to give your beloved pet the veterinary care they deserve.

Carolinas Center for Small Animal Reproduction

The Carolinas Center for Small Animal Reproduction at VSL serves as the region’s only referral specialty center for small animal reproduction.

At the Carolinas Center for Small Animal Reproduction, our board-certified specialists in reproduction, called theriogenologists, partner with our breeder clients and their primary care veterinarians to provide their pets with expertise and compassionate care in reproduction and neonatology.
