Physical Exams
At Veterinary Hospital, appointments are scheduled to allow time for your pet to become comfortable with the examination room and technicians. We offer both preventative care exams and sick exams. Our doctors will offer healthcare plans that are personalized to your pet’s needs. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. In the case of an emergency please contact our hospital immediately so that our trained staff members can advise you on your pets’ particular emergency 828-478-3500.
Happy Visits
We strongly encourage our clients to bring their pets in for “Happy Visits.” When your pet comes in for a Happy Visit, it enters an exam room, receives petting, praise, and treats, and then leaves without a single “doctor thing” being done to it. We recommend several Happy Visits for each real visit your pet has to the hospital. Our goal with Happy Visits is to not have your pet associate our hospital with scary or painful events. We want the tail wagging on the way in and on the way out. There is no fee for a Happy Visit.
Surgery
Our doctors perform multiple surgeries with the assistance of our trained technicians. We closely monitor all patients while under anesthesia with our state-of-the-art monitors. Parameters that are measured include EKG, blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and percent oxygenation. We also use Sevoflurane as our anesthetic agent for the safety of your pets.
Dental
Our dental include a cleaning, polish, and fluoride treatment. We also offer full-mouth dental radiographs that are taken when needed on a case-by-case basis. We are equipped to perform dental extractions and oral surgery. We have a dental scaler, high-speed drill, and professional polishing equipment to treat pets with tartar buildup and dental disease. Dental cleanings are done under anesthesia with all the precautions and monitors used for any other surgery.
In-house Laboratory
We offer a full in-house laboratory where we can run blood chemistries, complete blood counts, urine screening, tests for infectious diseases, cytology, and parasitic screens. We also use an outside laboratory for special chemistries and biopsies.
Digital Radiography and Ultrasound
Our in- house digital radiographs and ultrasound allow us to diagnose and treat our patients quickly and efficiently.
Laser Therapy
Laser therapy is the application of coherent light. Laser light consists of multiple light waves in which all the waves support one another. Laser therapy is a holistic, non-invasive, effective way to treat and manage many different conditions. The laser beam stimulates the cells and tissue to be healthy. It also reduces inflammation so that healing can begin. By reducing inflammation, the laser is also a great tool for helping to minimize the pain of many chronic conditions.
