Welcome to our veterinary team page! We are a dedicated group of animal lovers who are passionate about providing exceptional veterinary care to all of our patients. Our team is composed of skilled veterinarians, knowledgeable veterinary technicians, and friendly support staff who work together to ensure that your pet receives the highest standard of care.
Heidi Morgan, Associate DVM
Heidi is our associate DVM. She has been practicing for 25 years and went to Mich State. She prides herself on providing excellent, compassionate care to dogs and cats while treating clients with empathy and compassion.
In her free time, she enjoys playing the cello, reading, and spending time with her family.
Lacey Rosenberg, Managing DVM, DACT
Dr. Lacey Rosenberg was born in northern New Jersey and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. She completed her undergraduate studies at the California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo before earning her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University in 2016. She then completed a rotating internship in Small Animal Medicine, Surgery, and Emergency Medicine at VCA PetCare in Santa Rosa, CA, and worked as a general practitioner in the area the following year. Having always had a special interest in reproduction, Dr. Rosenberg decided to pursue specialty training by completing a Residency in Comparative Theriogenology at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in July 2020. Dr. Rosenberg is a Diplomate of the American College of Theriogenologists. She enjoys all aspects of canine and feline reproduction and is looking forward to offering advanced reproductive veterinary services to the community. Dr. Rosenberg spent the last year providing Theriogenology Services at a large specialty and emergency hospital in Central New Jersey before moving to the beautiful Lake Norman area to join Veterinary Hospital at the Lake.
Dr. Rosenberg is a breeder and fancier of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels – she regularly exhibits her Cavaliers in Conformation Shows in the American Kennel Club and the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club, USA. She also enjoys traveling, reading, and exploring the outdoors. She is looking forward to experiencing all that Lake Norman and the Greater Charlotte Area has to offer!
Megan Sweet, Associate DVM
Dr. Sweet earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the prestigious Michigan State University in 2023. Her core passion lies in preventative medicine, where she focuses on empowering pet owners to provide the best possible care to keep their companions healthy and happy. She also has a keen interest in the specialized fields of reproduction, surgery, and geriatrics.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Sweet loves spending quality time with her daughter. Her dedication to animals extends into her personal life, as she actively competes in a variety of dog sports with her two beloved dogs.
Jennifer Brown CVBL,CCFP
Jennifer earned her undergraduate degree in Veterinary Practice Management from Penn Foster, which provided her with a unique and comprehensive understanding of how to provide the highest standard of care for her patients.
Jennifer prides herself on empowering pet owners with the knowledge they need to be active partners in their animal’s health journey. She takes the time to ensure you understand every aspect of your pet’s care, from diagnosis to prevention.
In her free time, Jennifer embraces an active outdoor life. You can often find her trail riding with her mules or tending to her beloved “funny farm,” which is home to 3 horses, 7 dogs, and 20 chickens.
Starlet Heavner, Cryopreservation Manager
In her free time, she enjoys gardening, cooking, and relaxing whenever she gets the chance.
Margot Nazario, RVT
Her exceptional ability to connect with clients and patients is rooted in her diverse education. Margot holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and an Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology from the renowned Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology. This blend of behavioral science and clinical skill allows her to foster deep, trusting relationships.
Margot prides herself on creating a space where pet owners feel supported and understood. She is a dedicated advocate for senior pets and has a special passion for providing gentle and dignified end-of-life care.
Outside of the hospital, Margot leads an active lifestyle, enjoying running on scenic trails and strength training. She also loves cooking, reading, trying new restaurants, and spending quality time with her boyfriend, whether they are exploring new places or relaxing at home.
Kara Beebe, Lead Veterinary Assistant
Kara built her expertise on a solid educational foundation, earning an Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology from Ashworth College, as well as an A.A.S. in Medical Office Administration from Surry Community College.
At the hospital, Kara takes special pride in two key areas: client education and surgery/anesthesia. She is passionate about empowering pet owners with the knowledge they need to be partners in their pet’s health. She has passed VTNE awaiting state test for license.
When she’s not at the clinic, Kara enjoys spending quality time with her three beloved Chinese Shar-Peis. She also loves to escape into nature by camping or getting lost in a good book.
Russell Helma, Veterinary Assistant
What truly motivates Russell is the simple satisfaction of seeing happy, healthy patients and the smiling clients who love them. He prides himself on contributing to positive outcomes and ensuring that every visit is a good one, leaving both pets and their owners feeling cared for.
When he’s not at the hospital, Russell dedicates his free time to his favorite ambitious hobby: plotting world domination.
Meredith Hinson, Veterinary Assistant
Meredith earned a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from The University of Tennessee, followed by a Master of Animal Science from North Carolina State University. This advanced education fuels her passion for client education, as she enjoys empowering pet owners with a deeper understanding of their animal’s health. She is a firm believer in strengthening the human-animal bond by helping animals live their healthiest, happiest lives.
Looking to the future, Meredith is currently in the process of applying to veterinary school. While she enjoys her work in small animal practice, her ultimate goal is to become a large animal veterinarian, showcasing her deep and varied commitment to the well-being of all animals.
Destiny Hoke, Receptionist
A graduate of Bandy’s High School, Destiny understands that clear communication and trust are the foundation of excellent care. She prides herself on building strong relationships with both pets and their owners by treating every client with respect and attentiveness.
When she’s not at the hospital, Destiny loves spending quality time with her family and exploring the outdoors by taking her dogs for a hike.
Jaycee Moose, Receptionist
A graduate of Bandy’s High School, Jaycee brings a strong sense of dedication and care to her role. She takes great pride in providing compassion to every person and pet who comes through our doors. Her dependable, detail-oriented nature ensures that appointments are managed smoothly and client needs are met efficiently. At the heart of her work is a genuine love for animals, which shines through in all her interactions.
When she’s not at the reception desk, Jaycee loves spending quality time with her family, trying out new recipes in the kitchen, and enjoying a bit of shopping.
